Features
The material of 4340 steel bar is alloy structural steel. Equivalent to German DIN steel grade 36CrNiMo4 , French NF standard 40NCD3, Japanese JIS standard SNCM439, British BS standard 816M40, American SAE/ASTM4340, American UNS standard G43400，China Standard 40CrNiMoA.
SAE4340 is known as alloy structural steel or composite steel. The steel contains nickel between 1.65 and 2.00, which has high strength, toughness, high harden ability, and stability against overheating. However, it has high sensitivity to white spots and temper brittleness. Poor readability, requiring high-temperature preheating before welding, stress relief after welding, and use after tempering.

Heat treatment specifications
Quenched at 850 ℃, oil cooled; Temper at 600 ℃, water cooled, oil cooled.
Application
Commonly used for manufacturing important parts with high strength and good plasticity, and for manufacturing important parts with special functional requirements after nitrating treatment:
-Heavy machinery with high load shafts
-Wheel shaft with a diameter greater than 250mm
-The rotor shaft of a helicopter
-The turbine shaft, blades, and high load transmission components of a turbojet engine
-Crankshaft fasteners, gears, etc.
Package
1.By bundles, each bundle weight under 3 tons, for small outer diameter round bar, each bundle with 4 - 8 steel strips.
2.20 feet container contains dimension, length under 6000mm
3.40 feet container contains dimension, length under 12000mm
4.By bulk vessel, Freight charge is low by bulk cargo, and large heavy sizes can not be loaded into containers can shipping by bulk cargo
